Growing AMK on Google

The website side is done. This is the part only you can do: the Google profile, the reviews, the socials and the word of mouth that tell Google AMK is a real, trusted Australian store. Tick things off as you go; the ticks stay in your browser.

Where we are

The site is ready. Google just has to trust it.

Google ranks on two things: does the page answer the search, and do other people vouch for the store. The first part is built. The second part takes reviews, links and mentions, and that is what this plan is for.

38pages Google can now read: shop, every product, delivery, FAQ, about
36grow guides on the blog, two new ones every Tuesday and Friday until late November
#1 · #2for "amk store" and "aus myco kingdom" already
30+for "mushroom growing supplies australia" and similar today. This is the number we are moving.

Free tools worth using

Google Business Profile

  • Post an update every week: a new drop, a restock, a link to a new blog guide. Posts keep the profile active.
  • Answer every review, good or bad, within a couple of days. Short and friendly is enough.
  • Add new photos monthly. Profiles with fresh photos get more clicks.
  • Use the Products section to list grain bags, CVA, all-in-ones and agar, each linking to its own page on the site.

Search Console, once a month

  • Performance → Queries shows exactly what people typed to find AMK. Send Blu anything interesting; new guides can be written for it.
  • Pages → anything marked "Not indexed" is worth a mention to Blu.
  • Compare each month with the last. Clicks climbing slowly is what success looks like.

Google Merchant Center (free listings)

  • At merchants.google.com, add the store and connect it. Products can then show in the Shopping tab for free.
  • The site already publishes prices, stock and shipping in the format Google reads, so setup is mostly clicking through.
  • Keep listings strictly to grain, substrate, agar and grow kits. Google is strict about this category.

Bing Places and Apple Business Connect

  • Bing Places can import the Google profile in one click.
  • Apple Business Connect puts AMK on Apple Maps and Siri. Both are free and take 15 minutes each.
Links and mentions

Get other sites to point at AMK

Every genuine Australian site that links to amkstore.com.au is a vote. A handful of good ones beats hundreds of junk ones. Never pay for links or use link "packages"; Google can penalise the whole site for it.

Social media

Post grows, not ads

People follow mushroom accounts for the satisfying stuff: white bags, pins popping, a giant lion's mane. Show that, and let the link do the selling. Link to the exact page you are talking about, never just the home page.

Where to post

  • Instagram and TikTok: 3 posts a week is plenty. Reels and short videos reach the most new people.
  • Facebook groups: Australian mushroom growing, permaculture and gardening groups. Help people first; share links only where the rules allow.
  • Reddit: r/MushroomGrowers, r/mycology, r/GardeningAUS. Answer questions well and link a guide when it truly answers the question.
  • YouTube: even simple phone videos rank in Google for "how to" searches.

Hashtags and tags

  • Mix broad and Australian: #mushroomgrowing #growyourownfood #gourmetmushrooms #lionsmane #oystermushrooms #australiangardening #permacultureaustralia #melbournegardening
  • Tag the city or state in every post. Local search leans on it.
  • Pick one brand hashtag, for example #AMKgrows, and ask customers to use it.

What to expect

SEO is slow, then quick

The first weeks feel like nothing is happening. That is normal. Google tests a new site before it trusts it.

Weeks 1 to 4

Google indexes the new pages. The store starts showing for longer, specific searches like "all in one grow bag instructions".

Months 2 to 3

Blog guides start pulling in visitors. Reviews and the Business Profile begin showing in local results.

Months 4 to 6

With steady reviews and a few good links, category pages move onto page one for terms like "sterilised grain bags australia".

Month 6 onward

The head terms ("mushroom growing supplies australia") are the hardest and come last. Consistency wins them.
